Adding the follwing line to conf/local/log4j.properties make the errors
visible:

log4j.category.org.apache.commons.jelly.impl.TagScript=TRACE

..but I am not keen adding it to conf/log4j.properties (even if this one is
maybe not intented for direct use in production) as it also produces a lot of
other (mostly debug) output... :/
