I guess you mean also 5.5.x, right? Have you been able to test 7.0.x

It seems to me that the "old" Tomcat 5.5.20 was doing
session serialization by default, whereas the "new" Tomcat
7.0.25 doesn't, which I think is rather a pity. IIUC one
needs to set
