The reason this was introduced initially was to speed-up the overall 
build-process, which means one could set compile to false such that only 
certain resources would be compiled.

At some later stage we introduced "build -f ..." in order to compile 
individual resources and hence the above feature seems to be obsolete, 
but at least the documentation is fine again ;-)

I think we could change this at some point (or does anyone have a good 
reason to keep the compile attribute?), but I don't think it has a very 
high prio right now compared with other tasks.
