[Yanel-dev] Using Yanel as video footage server (similar to Final Cut Server or Avid or EditShare http://www.editshare.com/)

Hi

I recently started to think some more about using Amazon S3 and related 
to that it would also be nice
to share video footage. For example final cut express has the following 
file/folder structure (according to 
http://manuals.info.apple.com/en/Final_Cut_Express_4_User_Manual.pdf, 
page 956):


/Volume/DISK_NAME/Capture Scratch/PROJECT_NAME/*.mov

The idea is that one could create a Yanel realm which provides a small 
client (for example an applet)
which checks out the actual footage to a local workspace depending on 
the editing tool, whereas  the Yanel repo
only contains the meta data and the actual data is located at Amazon S3 
for example.

Will keep you posted with my ideas ;-)
