Right, I could try that.

There was no sign of an error anywhere, and I am not sure there is a log
file.

And I do have a browser installed! ;)
However, I wonder if polling the URL is not a better solution, since we
can never be sure how long we may have to wait anyway. And Michi just
suggested this as a fix for bug 6870 ( cf.
http://bugzilla.wyona.com/cgi-bin/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=6870#c2 ) so
maybe there is room for reuse there.
