Previous comment is for now irrelevant for Tomcat 5.5 (did not check later
versions) on all(*) platforms because Tomcat demands that either the "JRE_HOME"
or "JAVA_HOME" environment variables be set to do anything (see
$CATALINA_HOME/bin/setclasspath.*).

(*): except MacOS X where both are hardcoded to the JDK 5 that is preinstalled
(if using a reasonably recent version of OS X, that is).
